We’re Captains Joey Burnsed & Josh Schardin and we’re committed to delivering a great Sanibel & Captiva Islands fishing experience for you.

Whether you’re a family with young children or very seasoned and experienced fishermen and fisherwomen, we’re focused on customer service and a safe, fun and friendly fishing trip.

If there are fish out there, we’ll catch ’em!  And the great blessing of Sanibel & Captiva is that there usually are fish biting somewhere!

Captain Joe Burnsed Sr., my dad, and Laurel, my mom, raised me on Sanibel and Captiva Islands, and taught Josh and me all about fishing and shelling on Sanibel and Captiva.  My dad has had some significant health issues, so he doesn’t get out on the water much anymore.

Captain Josh grew up with me on Sanibel and works out of Jensen’s Marina on Captiva Island.  We generally just share the work, the fishing and the fun!

Hank is my dog and first mate (most of the time), and he is been know to jump over to Josh’s boat if Josh has something good to eat.

Charlie runs all our web & moble operations and is my first mate (and sometimes Josh’s first mate) when he is in Captiva … and Charlie has also been known to jump on to Josh’s boat – or petty much any boat – for something to eat!  Charlie and Hank manage to get along when they are on the boat together just fine and there isn’t any tension about who really is the “first” mate!

We’re big advocates of catch and release, particularly for snook, but pretty much for most species.  Only take what you are going to eat, and a lot of fish are better off as sport fish, even if they are in season.  Our motto is let ‘em get bigger and catch ‘em again!

The quickest and best way to book a charter is to book online.  Just click the link in the previous sentence, the calendar at the upper right on most pages of the web sites, or the book online menu item in mobile and and you can see availability and book a charter in a couple of clicks.

If I’m booked up on the calendar, call us because I often run a 3rd charter, either a kids trip at midday for a couple of hours or a late afternoon trip from 4-7 PM, or Josh may be available.

I can also line you up with our other guides, Captains Jimmy and Lamar.

And one of these days, Charlie will also be taking folks out.  Hank would like to, but he has a hard time steering the boat.  The injustice of no opposable thumbs. 😉

Keep smiling!

Castaways Marina, northern tip of Sanibel, just before the Blind Pass bridge to Captiva.

Josh is just north another 5 minutes or so at Jensen’s Marina.
