Fort Myers fishing report:  Jimmy Burnsed’s Fishin Divas Team took 3rd place in the “Ding” Darling & Doc Ford’s Tarpon Tournament on Saturday!

Team members included Cindy Brown, Deb Powers, Lauren Thomas and Sarah Walters.  The tournament is sponsored by Doc Ford’s and benefits the J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel Island.

Jimmy was rumored to have been quoted as saying “it was a hard fought tournament and everyone on our team covered themselves in glory demonstrating great tarpon fishing tenacity and skill – or said another way – we had the most fun of any boat in the tourney!”

We’re based in Fort Myers, but our boats leave from Castaways Marina on the northern tip of Sanibel Island, and ‘Tween Waters and Jensen’s Marinas on Captiva Island, all about a half hour drive from Fort Myers.

Most of the time we’re within casting distance of land, fishing the mangroves, or the oyster bars or the passes; we’ll go out a mile or two into the bay or gulf if we’re looking for goliath grouper, or tarpon or sharks.
