1/2/14 ~ Fort Myers fishing report … Charlie fishing redfish, Roosevelt Channel, Buck Key, Captiva … we stayed warm by tucking into the channels and mangroves a day or two ago!

… supposed to turn cold again tomorrow … so we will be using a similar fishing strategy … we’ll just bundle up a bit, stay out of the wind, and still catch some nice fish!

We’re based in Fort Myers, but our boats leave from Castaways Marina on the northern tip of Sanibel Island, and ‘Tween Waters and Jensen’s Marinas on Captiva Island, all about a half hour drive from Fort Myers.

Most of the time we’re within casting distance of land, fishing the mangroves, or the oyster bars or the passes; we’ll go out a mile or two into the bay or gulf if we’re looking for goliath grouper, or tarpon or sharks.

Let’s go on a Fort Myers, Sanibel, Captiva, North Captiva or Cayo Costa Island fishing or shelling guide trip.

Call 239-472-8658 to book a Sanibel & Captiva, Fort Myers or Boca Grande fishing guide or charter.

Fair winds and following seas,

Captain Joey Burnsed and first mates Charlie and Hank …
